About Greg

Greg Clifford is a highly regarded freelance sound engineer and producer with a career spanning several decades. He began his journey in the music industry at the age of 17, initially lugging equipment and touring around Australia. His big break came when the sound engineer from The Angels handed Greg the responsibility of mixing the show. This pivotal moment led to Greg becoming the live sound engineer for The Angels for 45 years.

In 2007, Greg expanded his role by producing and engineering studio albums for The Angels, collaborating closely with founding member John Brewster. Over the years, he produced the last 12 albums for the band, further solidifying his impact on their success.

Greg’s influence extends beyond The Angels. He has been integral to Christine’s career, serving as her live sound engineer and producing her last two albums, along with several singles. Greg is also recognised live and session drummer and has played Christine’s last 2 albums with his solid style of drumming sets the drive for her music. Greg’s production on the Bob Segar hit “Turn the Page” is outstanding along with “She’s Playing with Fire” and “Maxine”, Greg’s influential style shines through with these productions.

One of Greg’s most celebrated achievements is his production of The Symphony of Angels, which began in 2012 at the Adelaide Festival Theatre. Greg live-engineered the performance, which featured a 5-piece band, a 30-piece choir, and a 40-piece orchestra. The event was recorded and released as a DVD and CD combo, which has sold thousands of copies worldwide and garnered widespread acclaim.
This year 2025 Greg has been nominated in the ISSA awards in Atlanta USA for Sound Engineer of the Year for is dedicated work to the industry.
